IN HISTORY

 

On 30th June 1962 at 12:00pm on Saturday it is when the first flag of Rwenzururu kingdom was raised in Mathugu kyathenga County in Congo Zaire (DRC) as a sign of getting free from the Toro Kingdom Colonization.

And this was led by the first king of Rwenzururu king Isaya Mukirania together with his wife Nyabahole Christine kabanzanga.

This has brought peace and joy among the people of Rwenzori and kasese at large long live the Omusinga WA Rwenzururu and the Royal family
